Description

The American bison is a large even-toed ungulate reaching up to 1500 kg in weight and up to 3.8 meters in length. When running, the bison can reach speeds of up to 50 km/h.

Appearance

The American bison has a massive body build, which gives it a majestic appearance. The fur is brown, dense, and longer on the head and chest, making these parts of the body appear more robust.

Habitat

American bison form large herds of up to tens of thousands of individuals, but in winter they separate into smaller groups in an effort to more easily find food.
